If you are unable to bring the children to the mountain, why not consider bringing the mountain to the children? Burritt’s education staff and volunteers can bring some of our most popular themes and artifacts right into the classroom.
Outreach Programs are offered alternate days and times may be available. The fee for this program is $100 an hour and $50 for each additional hour up to $350 for the school day. The fee includes one or two presenters. An additional fee applies for out-of-county visits.

Folk Art, Function and Fun This program includes handmade artifacts and relics from the past as part of the presentation. The items we bring to display and share include functional and decorative folk art from the past. We look at the items made by hand that assisted the settlers in their everyday work and play. Hands on crafts, such as corn shuck dolls or stenciling, are activities that can be an added option.
Spinning, Churning, and Playing Spinning, churning, and playing are all activities our ancestors participated in. These are activities we love to share with you at your school. The children have the opportunity to card the wool, watch a spinner, churn butter, and of course play with traditional toys. Incorporate this into a fall festival you are planning at your school. For information about prices and availability call Tammy at 256-518-3931. |
