Church_in_fal Old Country Church This church was built in 1884 and stood at the corner of College and Sullivan Streets in Madison, Alabama. The Rev. Spears served the first congregation, which was organized prior to 1884. The Rev. Stockton was the first to serve in the church and Samuel Balch was Deacon. The church was moved to Burritt and rededicated in 1981. Currently the Old Country Church is used for family reunions, weddings, a meeting hall, plays and more. See the Old Country Church.

The Whimsical Woods

TWW_Logo_4c_dkBurritt on the Mountain has created a wild and wonderful game called “The Whimsical Woods” and you must be a part of it! Join Felicity Fairy and Will the Woodsman in their quest for a hero. Ride Huck Finn’s river raft, climb in the Swiss Family Robinson’s Tree house and see if you have what it takes to pull a sword from a stone! Our Whimsical Woods are filled with characters from nursery rhymes, Grimm’s Fair Tales and other classic stories of the 1800’s.

Join us and you can be part of the game! When you enter The Whimsical Woods you’ll receive a map of places to visit including the home of the 3 Bears, the 7 Dwarfs mining sluice and the Troll’s Bridge from Billy Goats Gruff.
