An event every day that begins at 9:00am, repeating until October 12, 2018
Make fall break an exciting adventure when you join Burritt for Fall Nature Rangers Camp. During the week of October 8th -12th, kindergarten through 5th grade students will have a blast at our Autumn Adventures day camp. Each day, campers will be led by Burritt’s trained, CPR-certified staff. Our teacher to camper ratio of 1:15 ensures that your child receives individualized attention during these fun-filled days of autumn crafts, learning history, hiking, nature exploration, playing games, and more.
Camp days run from 9:00 to 2:00. Students should bring their own sack lunch, but Burritt will provide a snack each day. You may also choose to register for our extended day options with drop-off available as early as 7:45 a.m. and pickup as late as 5:30 p.m. The cost for each day of extended day is an additional $5 each day for morning only, and additional $10 each day for afternoon only, or $15 per day for both morning and afternoon.
To better fit busy families’ schedules, we offer three attendance options. Campers may join us for all five days (Oct. 8th-12th) at a cost of $155 for Burritt members and $165 for non-members. Can’t make it for the whole week? Come to camp on Monday & Tuesday ($62 members, $66 non-members) or Wednesday through Friday ($93 members, $99 non-members). Registrations and payment must be received by Tuesday, October 2nd.

SOLD OUT! Monday & Tuesday (Oct 8th and 9th) – Do you like to solve puzzles and riddles? Then come have fun learning about the Victorian scavenger hunt called Letterboxing, Orienteering with a compass, and the high-tech scavenger hunt using GPS technology called Geocaching. We will learn the history of these 3 activities and then try our luck hunting for the Burritt Letterbox, our Burritt Geocache, and hiking our trail. Each camper will make a letterbox log book and stamp, find a geocache treasure, and make an autumn leaf animal. These two days promise lots of outdoor activities and fun!
SOLD OUT! Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday (Oct 10th-12th) – Come join our Autumn Adventures and learn why and how leaves change colors, make your own hiking stick, learn the American history of corn, make a corn shuck toy and much more. On Thursday we will use our hiking sticks as the Huntsville Audubon Society leads a hike they call Bug Out. Insects are a very important food source for birds, especially baby birds. Visit the small, fascinating world of bugs as we hike the trail and investigate, track, capture, identify and release a variety of insects. Campers will enjoy lots of fresh air and open spaces as we make autumn crafts, hike our nature trails, and explore the historic park and outdoor playgrounds.
