Blacksmithing: “Faces In Iron”
Deadline to Register: November 2 @5:00pm
Description: During this six hour workshop, students will learn about the basics of blacksmithing as they forge a wizard face letter opener on 3/8 or 1/2 inch square stock . Students may use the instructors tools, Burritt’s tools, or forge their own tools. Heat treating tools will be demonstrated.
Instructor: Steve Williamson has been blacksmithing for 35 years and operates a blacksmith shop in Columbia, TN. He has been teaching blacksmithing for 20 of those years and has taught as far away as Brisbane Australia at the Hot Iron Muster.
Supplies and Attire: All materials and supplies will be provided. If you have your own pair of safety goggles please feel free to bring them. Students should wear close-toed shoes and long pants. Shorts and open toed shoes will not be permitted!
Time: Saturday, November 9 (9:00am – 4:00pm)
Supply Fee: $25.00

Important Information: Registering for a workshop indicates that the student is 19 years or older and understands that photographs/video may be taken during the event and their image may be used on Burritt on the Mountain’s website and social media outlets or other promotional materials. Registration also indicates that the student releases Burritt on the Mountain and the City of Huntsville, all their directors, employees, volunteers, and any persons associated with Burritt on the Mountain, from any liability for any bodily injury and/or property damage suffered by the attendee as a result of actives during the educational program.
Cancelation Policy: Students that cancel 14 days prior to the date of the class will be eligible for a full refund. Students that cancel 7 days prior to the date of the class will be eligible for a 50% refund. If student cancels 6 days or less prior to the date of the class no refund will be issued.
