    Blacksmithing: “Holidays at the Forge: Stocking Stuffers and Gifts from the Fire”

    Deadline to Register: November 9 @5:00pm

    Description: In this class we will cover the basics from building a proper fire to creating handmade works of are to take home as gifts, ornaments, or stocking stuffers focused around a holiday theme. This class is designed for those with little to no experience or have only been in the fire a time or two. The same class will be offered on both Saturday and Sunday. If students wish to come to both days they will receive a discount and will be able to make different items on the second day.

    Instructor: Michael Linn has been blacksmithing since 1993 and has been active with the Alabama Forge Council ever since. His primary focus is colonial and medieval/gothic style ironwork and anything else that catches his eye and can push his skill set further. Mikes blacksmith philosophy is one of continuous education, learning, and expanding horizons.

    Supplies and Attire: All materials and supplies will be provided. If you have your own pair of safety goggles please feel free to bring them. Students must wear close-toed shoes and long pants. Loose fitting cotton or natural fiber clothing are encouraged. Shorts and open-toed shoes will not be permitted!

    Time: Saturday, November 16 (9:00am – 4:00pm)

    Tuition: $75.00

    Supply Fee: $25.00

    Important Information: Registering for a workshop indicates that the student is 19 years of age or older and understands that photographs/video may be taken during the event and their image may be used on Burritt on the Mountain’s website and social media outlets or other promotional materials. Registration also indicates that the student releases Burritt on the Mountain and the City of Huntsville, all their directors, employees, volunteers, and any persons associated with Burritt on the Mountain, from any liability for any bodily injury and/or property damage suffered by the attendee as a result of actives during the educational program.

    Cancelation Policy: Students that cancel 14 days prior to the date of the class will be eligible for a full refund. Students that cancel 7 days prior to the date of the class will be eligible for a 50% refund. If student cancels 6 days or less prior to the date of the class no refund will be issued.
