“Women’s Work, Women’s Wear”
Saturday, July 16th
10:00 – 4:00
Jump into the past with a day all about Women’s Work and Women’s Wear. On Saturday, July 16th, join us to explore life as it was lived by women in the 1800s. Experience their daily life and the jobs they did at home, on the farm, and out in the world. Learn what it took to be a 19th century mother, try your hand at a farm woman’s barnyard chores, enjoy some of the household arts that were valued for many generations, and step with them into careers like school teaching and beyond.
As you travel through the park, see the changes in the fashions that the women of our historic park families would have worn and admired. Come to appreciate the strength of women who came before, and the many roles they led. Activities are included with general admission.
