Fiber Arts: “Embroidery Sampler”

Description: Come try a new craft and make your own floral embroidery sampler! In this class, we will go over basic stitches to make a bouquet of hand-sewn flowers. No experience necessary to come try out and learn how to embroider your very own piece of home decor!

Students will receive supply kits that include a wooden embroidery hoop, fabric printed with the sampler pattern, embroidery floss, and needles required to complete the project

Instructor:  Devora Curnutte is an avid knitter and embroidery enthusiast. She learned to knit at the age of ten, and started embroidering in high school. Since then, she’s expanded her knowledge of both fiber crafts. She loves to knit lace and stranded colorwork, to embroider animals, and will drop everything she is doing to honor the fiber craft requests of her six-year-old son. An Appalachian native, Devora grew up and attended college in Southeast Ohio. After living in Ohio and Texas, she, her husband, their son and their six cats moved to Madison in late 2020. When she isn’t knitting or sewing, Devora can be found exploring with her family, reading, writing about motherhood, running, or practicing yoga.

Supplies and Attire: All materials and equipment are provided. Please wear comfortable clothing.

Time: Thursday, July 14th  (6:00pm – 9:00pm)

Tuition: $50.00

Supply Fee: $20.00

Level: Beginner and Intermediate

Important Information: Registering for a workshop indicates that the student is 19 years of age or older and understands that photographs/video may be taken during the event and their image may be used on Burritt on the Mountain’s website and social media outlets or other promotional materials. Registration also indicates that the student releases Burritt on the Mountain and the City of Huntsville, all their directors, employees, volunteers, and any persons associated with Burritt on the Mountain, from any liability for any bodily injury and/or property damage suffered by the attendee as a result of actives during the educational program.

Cancellation Policy: Our workshops take a great deal of advance planning and purchasing of supplies. Students that cancel 14 days or more prior to the date of the class will be eligible for a refund, minus a $20.00 cancellation fee. If a student cancels 14 days or less prior to the date of the class, no refund can be issued.
