Fiber Arts: “Fall Knit Bits at Burritt”
Description: Have you started knitting but aren’t sure where to go from here? Perhaps you’ve mastered casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off, but need help with a make one or slip-slip-knit. Want to know more about the importance of gauge swatches and different fibers? Knit Nights on the Mountain are for you!
Each meeting, we will cover a different topic to expand your knitting knowledge and help you grow as a knitter, in a short, snack-sized session, rather than a longer project-based class. You can register for one, two, three, or all four dates to get as much or as little practice and instruction/guidance as you need. Hungry? Charcuterie boxes, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase!
You’ll want to bring your own yarn and needles, though our instructor will have some to lend on hand if needed! Participants may want to bring a s mall swatch of kitting on needles to practice the demonstrated techniques. Come to meet other knitters, learn a new stitch or two, show off your latest creation and ask questions! We can’t wait to have you!

Instructor: Devora Curnutte learned to knit at the age of ten, when her aunt taught her the basic knit stitch. Since then, she’s expanded her knowledge and love of knitting, adding a plethora of knit knowledge to her arsenal. She loves to knit lace and stranded colorwork, and will drop everything she is doing to honor the knitting requests of her six-year-old son. An Appalachian native, Devora grew up and attended college in Southeast Ohio. After living in Ohio and Texas, she, her husband, their son and their six cats moved to Madison in late 2020. When she isn’t knitting, Devora can be found exploring with her family, reading, writing about motherhood, running, or practicing yoga.
Supplies and Attire: Please bring your own needles and yarn. The instructor will have a few on hand to lend if necessary.
