Title: Folk School PreView: “Springtime Sun Catcher”
Join us for an evening of fun and folklife at our Folk School PreView! Held once a month during Burritt’s “Cocktails on the View” students will participate in a two hour introductory class taught by a Folk School instructor and enjoy cocktails and appetizers while creating their own project. Arrive at 5:00 pm and visit The View to purchase a drink and see the Huntsville skyline from Burritt’s 3000 square foot overlook. The class will begin at 5:30 and end by 7:30 giving you another thirty minutes to enjoy The View after class ends. Light appetizers will be served in class and this is included in the ticket price. These “previews” of our Folk School are perfect for socializing with friends or date night. Have a group of 6 or more and interested in a private event? Email email@example.com.
Description: Come and join us for a two hour class to design and create a 4×6 suncatcher for your window! Students will choose from a variety of floral and spring designs for their piece. Each suncatcher will be fired in our glass kiln and ready for pick-up one week after class.
Instructor: Kay Lenard is a multi-dimensional glass artist. Kay previously worked in the government and with the American Red Cross as a Director of Emergency and Disaster Services. She has extensive experience teaching numerous classes and became a master instructor with the Red Cross. “While traveling our great country, I fell in love with stained and painted glass windows. I have been working in glass for 5 years now. I had the extreme fortune to meet a wonderful mentor Karen Reed who taught me how versatile glass is. I enjoy working with frit, and painting especially with calligraphy pens and working with glass modeling clay. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and love of glass with the participants of Burritt on the Mountain.”
