Title: Glass: “Classical Stained Glass”
Description: In this two day workshop, students will make a classical stained glass panel in the manner of Louis Comfort Tiffany. This 2 day class will lead you through every step in the process of making a stained glass panel. Beginners are very welcome. Students will get to choose their colors they would like to use. After you register, the Program Manager will reach out to find out your preferences.
Instructor: Karen Reed has been an art glass professional for over 35 years. Her work has been purchased for private collections in several countries, was requested for Christmas display at The White House, and is carried in galleries in four states. She has been a published, contributing editor for GLASS Craftsman magazine for 13 years. She has also written for: International Guild of Glass Artist’s publication: Common Ground Glass, Glass Art, the e-magazine artglassinfo.com, Fired Arts and Crafts and The Crafts Report. Teaching is a major component of Karen’s work. She has previously taught at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC and has delighted in teaching at Arrowmont School for Arts & Crafts and Appalachian Center for Crafts for over a decade. Locally, her work is available at The Huntsville Museum of Art and The Huntsville Art League (Lowe Mill).
Supplies and Attire: All materials and supplies will be provided. Students should wear close-toed shoes.
Time: (8 hour workshop) Saturday, August 21 (9:00am – 1:00pm) AND Sunday, August 22 (10:00am – 3:00pm)
Supply Fee: $15.00

Important Information: Registering for a workshop indicates that the student is 19 years of age or older and understands that photographs/video may be taken during the event and their image may be used on Burritt on the Mountain’s website and social media outlets or other promotional materials. Registration also indicates that the student releases Burritt on the Mountain and the City of Huntsville, all their directors, employees, volunteers, and any persons associated with Burritt on the Mountain, from any liability for any bodily injury and/or property damage suffered by the attendee as a result of actives during the educational program.
Cancellation Policy: Our workshops take a great deal of advance planning and purchasing of supplies. Students that cancel 14 days or more prior to the date of the class will be eligible for a refund, minus a $20.00 cancellation fee. If a student cancels 14 days or less prior to the date of the class, no refund can be issued.
