10am or 1pm
Join us for a fun day of history, hiking, and beautiful fall color as we explore our trails here at Burritt on the Mountain. We’ll start with a quick tour of our Historic Park, zip by Dr. Burritt’s Mansion, then head out on the trail to find the hidden history there. We’ll discover stories of coal mining, wandering goats, electrification, and even a Civil War skirmish, all right here in our mountain woods.
This moderate-difficulty hike will last approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and will travel on the Rock Bluff Trail, Discovery Trail, and Big Cove Turnpike Trail. Strollers and walkers may join during the Historic Park and Mansion portions of the program, but are not suitable for the trail hike. The morning hike will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will be repeated at 1:00 p.m. Meet behind the Welcome Center. This program is FREE for Burritt Members and regular admission prices apply to non-members.
