Like his daddy, Randy’s robust, stately baritone lends itself ably to mainstream country, folk, blues, bluegrass, and any other genre he chooses. Inspired by to all types of music and teaching guitar in Richmond, Randy developed his singing, song writing and musical skills into a solo career, opening for major acts, fronting regional country and country-rock bands. Randy has released four nationally distributed CDs (Keeper of The Flame, Caution to the Wind, The Country Gentlemen Reunion Band, Randy Waller) with several tunes receiving airplay. Randy participated the bluegrass great anthology, Epilogue – A Tribute to John Duffey, his duet with Lou Reid of the Carter Family classic “Sad and Lonesome Day” released in 2018. His guitar mastery is evidenced by Blueridge Guitars’ production of the Randy Waller-designed, signature model, BG-180RW. Not to drop names but Randy’s played at the White House and the Opry. Randy’s diverse original compositions include gypsy jazz (Jack See Nock), western swing (Rough and Ready), syncopated swampy blues (Shotgun Rider) and the heart felt “Little Red Shoes” and “Daddy’s Old Guitar.
Recently Randy invited some musical friends over to accompany him. “Company” consisted of polished, veteran Tennessee Valley talent:
Phil Riddick, Banjo
Russ Holder. Dobro/Vocals
Dustin Young, Mandolin
Adrienne Tabor , Fiddle/Vocals
Jim Rutledge, Upright Bass/Vocals
