Travel back to the past to experience how early Alabama settlers lived. Campers in grades K-5th will enjoy hands-on experiences with the chores of pioneer children. They’ll help feed the barnyard animals, try their hand at weaving, and see what it’s like to help out in a historic kitchen. Campers will play with old-fashioned toys and participate in fun games from the 1800’s, as well as favorites from today. We’ll explore the woods together as we hike nature trails and learn how the forest provided many resources for Alabama settlers. Campers will create their own exciting artworks based on folk art and the many household items settlers made for themselves.
