Plants and Herbs: “Folk Wreath Design”
Deadline to Register: November 23rd at 5:00 pm
Description: Join us for a holiday workshop on the mountain & learn about folk wreath design, while creating your own 12” wreath using foraged materials! Before plastic, big box stores & faux or pre-made wreaths, folks made use of the land, gathering what nature provided to decorate their homes for the Winter. Spend an afternoon with local gardener & daytime pyrographer, Lauren Concepcion, as she teaches students how to creatively forage & design their own natural wreaths for the holidays. All materials will be provided including, but not limited to: evergreen greenery, dried orange slices, cinnamon sticks, pinecones, nuts, branches & more. Please feel free to bring your own foraged materials for incorporation & a pair of gloves, if needed.
Please scroll down to read our updated cancelation policy.
Instructor: Lauren Concepcion Originally a psychology graduate, with the intent on studying landscape architecture, Lauren has explored many creative paths including plant and garden design. Getting her start about 6 years ago, all these paths eventually morphed and converged into something entirely different: wood-burning. Being a drawer and maker of things all her life, Lauren believes in filling our environments with thoughtful and meaningful pieces; that hand-made items are special, purposeful and invaluable. She hopes to share this belief, along with the reawakening of this forgotten technique, with others. Lauren Concepcion is a self-taught pyrographer and owner of her local pyrography business, LC Pyrography & Design. You can find Lauren at LCPyrography.com and on Instagram, @lc.pyrographydesign.
