Deadline to Register: November 2 (5:00pm)
Description: Come get in the holiday spirit by crafting your own holiday decorations during this 9 hour workshop. Honor your ancestors and create heirlooms for the next generation by decorating your home with historic tinware for the holidays! Make reproductions of the original TIN-sel, an angel or star tree topper, advent wreath, menorah, bowls for centerpiece decorations or punched tin ornaments.
Instructor: Pat McMillion is an award-winning teacher (retired) who was hooked on tinsmithing from her very first class with Harry Kruppenbach and Clinton Pitts in 2003. Since then she has completed 23 classes, built her own backyard studio, and filled it with all of the necessary historic tools to reproduce lighting, cooking equipment, household goods and decorative items for her home, friends and historic parks. In 2017, the entire contents of her shop were donated to the Rosenwald Industrial Room at Burritt on the Mountain.
Supplies and Attire: Students should wear comfortable attire that they don’t mind getting dirty. Please also wear closed-toe shoes. All supplies and materials will be provided.
