Deadline to Register: July 7th at 5:00 pm
Description: Learn the techniques of wood-burning, with local pyrographer Lauren Concepcion, while burning your own set of local, hand-made utensils crafted by Alabama Treenware! No experience is necessary. Classes are structured to accommodate both beginner & intermediate burners. Lauren will provide designs & teach participants the basic techniques of wood-burning, how to use and care for their burners, as well as share her step-by-step process for each project.
Treenware will be hand-crafted by local artisan, Lindsey Boothe, with Alabama Treenware. You can find Lindsey’s treenware available all around Huntsville, as well as through her website: Alabamatreenware.com. You can also find Lindsey at the Folk School teaching cooking classes throughout the year!
Instructor: Lauren Concepcion Originally a psychology graduate, with the intent on studying landscape architecture, Lauren has explored many creative paths. Getting her start about 6 years ago, all these paths eventually morphed and converged into something entirely different: wood-burning. Being a drawer and maker of things all her life, Lauren believes in filling our environments with thoughtful and meaningful pieces; that hand-made items are special, purposeful and invaluable. She hopes to share this belief, along with the reawakening of this forgotten technique, with others. Lauren Concepcion is a self-taught pyrographer and owner of her local pyrography business, LC Pyrography & Design. You can find Lauren at LCPyrography.com and on Instagram, @lc.pyrographydesign.
