Wood-Burning: “Holiday Serving Boards”
Deadline to Register: November 2 @5:00pm
Description: You’ll be the talk of the holiday parties with your one-of-a-kind serving board! Learn the techniques of wood-burning while creating a seasonal serving board just in time for the holidays. No experience is necessary. Lauren will provide a holiday design, including an introduction into different food-safe woods, as well as teach some techniques of wood-burning and her step-by-step process for each project. Each participant will create a holiday serving board, perfect for charcuterie, cheese or any other delicious treats. All materials will be provided. Design will feature natural holiday accents, including but not limited to poinsettias, pinecones and conifer greeneries. This design will teach participants how to transfer and burn their outline, use and manipulate their pen tips, and how to add details through shading textures and tones.
Instructor: Lauren Concepcion, originally a psychology graduate, with the intent on studying landscape architecture, Lauren has explored many creative paths. Getting her start about 6 years ago, all these paths eventually morphed and converged into something entirely different: wood-burning. Being a drawer and maker of things all her life, Lauren believes in filling our environments with thoughtful and meaningful pieces; that hand-made items are special, purposeful and invaluable. She hopes to share this belief, along with the reawakening of this forgotten technique, with others. Lauren Concepcion is a self-taught pyrographer and owner of her local pyrography business, LC Pyrography & Design. You can find Lauren at LCPyrography.com and on Instagram, @lc.pyrographydesign. There will be a 30 minute lunch break.
