Title: Wood Burning: “Monogram Coasters”

Description:  Learn the techniques of wood-burning, with local pyrographer Lauren Concepcion, while creating a set of three wooden, monogrammed coasters! No experience is necessary. Lauren will provide all designs & teach participants the basic techniques of wood-burning, how to use and care for their burners, as well as share her step-by-step process for each project.

Instructor: Lauren Concepcion Originally a psychology graduate, with the intent on studying landscape architecture, Lauren has explored many creative paths. Getting her start about 6 years ago, all these paths eventually morphed and converged into something entirely different: wood-burning. Being a drawer and maker of things all her life, Lauren believes in filling our environments with thoughtful and meaningful pieces; that hand-made items are special, purposeful and invaluable. She hopes to share this belief, along with the reawakening of this forgotten technique, with others. Lauren Concepcion is a self-taught pyrographer and owner of her local pyrography business, LC Pyrography & Design. You can find Lauren at LCPyrography.com and on Instagram, @lc.pyrographydesign.

Supplies and Attire: All materials and equipment are provided. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes. Clothing should be comfortable. No long sleeves or fabric that cannot be rolled up or moved out of the way of the pen while burning. If students have their own burners they would like to bring they may do so. Burners will be available for purchase after the class if students would like to do so.
