Wood Working: “An Intro into Wood-Burning”

October 19, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Wood Working: “An Intro into Wood-Burning”

Deadline to Register: October 12 @ 5:00pm

Description: Learn the basics of wood-burning and create a fall themed piece to decorate your home. This is an introductory class, so no experience is necessary. Lauren will teach you the beginning techniques of pyrography, as well as her step-by-step process. Each participant will create a fall themed, 9×13”, hanging wall décor plaque. All materials and designs will be provided. Design features a two-toned, succulent-planted pumpkin! This design will teach participants how to transfer and burn their outline, use and manipulate their pen tips, and how to add details through shading textures and tones.

Instructor: Lauren Concepcion Originally a psychology graduate, with the intent on studying landscape architecture, Lauren has explored many creative paths. Getting her start about 6 years ago, all these paths eventually morphed and converged into something entirely different: wood-burning. Being a drawer and maker of things all her life, Lauren believes in filling our environments with thoughtful and meaningful pieces; that hand-made items are special, purposeful and invaluable. She hopes to share this belief, along with the reawakening of this forgotten technique, with others. Lauren Concepcion is a self-taught pyrographer and owner of her local pyrography business, LC Pyrography & Design. You can find Lauren at LCPyrography.com and on Instagram, @lc.pyrographydesign.

Supplies and Attire: All materials and equipment are provided. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes. If students have their own burners they would like to bring they may do so. Burners will be available for purchase after the class if students would like to do so.
