    Blacksmithing Workshop

    This class, taught by Al Stephens of Pequea Valley Forge, will focus on several basic forging fundamentals.  Using the forge, anvil, and basic hand tools students will learn tapering, spreading, scrolling, bending,  and riveting as they make a  3-Hook Wall Coat Rack.

    Stained Glass Workshop

    Pastel Painting Workshop

    In this class, the student will learn the qualities of pastel what and when to use them, mark making, achieving realistic light and transparency, foliage, form, color theory, atmospheric perspective, and safety. The class will be lecture, demo, and interaction. The class duration is between 3-4 hours depending on student’s work speed. Students will have a finished or near finished work of art at class end.

    Woodworking Workshop

    Ages 5 and up. This class is designed for a parent and their child to participate together. During this workshop each pair will make a set of three wooden toys: a ball and cup, a car, and a climbing bear. At the end of the class we will have a race to see whose car is the fastest.

    Make Your Own Pots Workshop

    In this two hour workshop, students will learn how to make these lightweight and very durable papercrete vessels using 60-75% recycled newspaper. We’ll talk about different styles and recipe mixtures, as well as, make a vessel for students to take home. We will then discuss different techniques and recipes for hyper tufa pots and get our hands in the mix in order to make our own vessel.
