DESCRIPTION:Deadline to Register: February 10th at 5:00pm \nTitle: Weekday Series: “Stained Glass Dragonfly Panel” \nDescription:  This stained glass panel has two layers\, the base layer and the magical dragonfly.  The class will cover all aspects of building a panel plus how to construct and attach an overlay. Two classes in one session!   Beginners are welcome. There will be a half-hour lunch break during this class. We recommend you bring a lunch from home. \n  \nInstructor: Karen Reed has been an art glass professional for over 35 years. Her work has been purchased for private collections in several countries\, was requested for Christmas display at The White House\, and is carried in galleries in four states. She has been a published\, contributing editor for GLASS Craftsman magazine for 13 years. She has also written for: International Guild of Glass Artist’s publication: Common Ground Glass\, Glass Art\, the e-magazine artglassinfo.com\, Fired Arts and Crafts and The Crafts Report. Teaching is a major component of Karen’s work. She has previously taught at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown\, NC and has delighted in teaching at Arrowmont School for Arts & Crafts and Appalachian Center for Crafts for over a decade. Locally\, her work is available at The Huntsville Museum of Art and The Huntsville Art League (Lowe Mill). \nSupplies and Attire: All materials and supplies will be provided. Students should wear close-toed shoes. \nTime: Tuesday\, February 17th  (9:00am – 3:30pm) \nTuition: $105.00 \nSupply Fee: $25.00 \nLevel:  All Levels \n~~~~~~ \nImportant Information: Registering for a workshop indicates that the student is 19 years of age or older and understands that photographs/video may be taken during the event and their image may be used on Burritt on the Mountain’s website and social media outlets or other promotional materials. Registration also indicates that the student releases Burritt on the Mountain and the City of Huntsville\, all their directors\, employees\, volunteers\, and any persons associated with Burritt on the Mountain\, from any liability for any bodily injury and/or property damage suffered by the attendee as a result of activities during the educational program. \nCancellation Policy:  Our workshops take a great deal of advanced planning and purchasing of supplies. 25% of all ticket purchases are a non-refundable deposit. Students cancelling 30 days or more prior to the date of the class will be eligible for a refund\, minus the non-refundable deposit. No refunds will be issued less than 30 days from the start date of a class.*  To be fair and consistent\, there can be no exceptions to this policy\, regardless the reason a cancellation is requested. \nThank you for understanding that this policy is in place to protect our artist instructors who spend time\, energy\, and money to create an amazing learning experience.  \n*We require a minimum number of students to hold a class. If this minimum is not met\, the class may be cancelled or rescheduled. In this case\, a full refund will be offered.

DESCRIPTION:Title: Weekday Series: “Three Hook Coat Rack” \nDeadline to Register: Tuesday\, February 10\, 2026 (5:00pm) \nDescription: This class will focus on several basic forging fundamentals. Using the forge\, anvil\, and basic hand tools students will learn tapering\, spreading\, scrolling\, bending\, and riveting as they make a Three Hook Wall Coat Rack. \nInstructor: Al Stephens has recently retired having been a professional blacksmithing since 1992. He is a member of the Athens Forge chapter of the Alabama Forge Council. Al has taught classes for Burritt on the Mountain and Athens State University and demonstrated at local blacksmithing meetings. He is a member of the Alabama Forge Council.
