Two classes in one session!   Beginners are welcome. There will be a half-hour lunch break during this class. We recommend you bring a lunch from home. \n  \nInstructor: Karen Reed has been an art glass professional for over 35 years. Her work has been purchased for private collections in several countries\, was requested for Christmas display at The White House\, and is carried in galleries in four states. She has been a published\, contributing editor for GLASS Craftsman magazine for 13 years. She has also written for: International Guild of Glass Artists publication: Common Ground Glass\, Glass Art\, the e-magazine artglassinfo.com\, Fired Arts and Crafts and The Crafts Report. Teaching is a major component of Karen’s work. She has previously taught at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown\, NC and has delighted in teaching at Arrowmont School for Arts & Crafts and Appalachian Center for Crafts for over a decade. Using the forge\, anvil\, and basic hand tools students will learn tapering\, spreading\, scrolling\, bending\, and riveting as they make a Three Hook Wall Coat Rack. \nInstructor: Al Stephens has recently retired having been a professional blacksmithing since 1992. He is a member of the Athens Forge chapter of the Alabama Forge Council. Al has taught classes for Burritt on the Mountain and Athens State University and demonstrated at local blacksmithing meetings. He is a member of the Alabama Forge Council. This class is great for all skill levels\, even if you have never picked up a paint-brush\, the point is to come and relax for a bit while creating something special! \nInstructor: Your instructor\, Lynn Lawrence\, has been painting since she was 7 years old. She started watercolor painting under the tutelage of her aunt\, Ruth Brown\, a well-known Alabama watercolorist.  She went on to compete in high school\, in a variety of media\, and was offered a scholarship to the Art Institute of Atlanta.
