This class will focus on several basic forging fundamentals. Using the forge, anvil, and basic hand tools students will learn tapering, spreading, scrolling, bending, and riveting as they make a Three Hook Wall Coat Rack.
Makers on the Mountain: Basketmaking with Invasive Plants February 21 from 1:00-3:00 pm Participants will craft egg baskets using invasive plant species including autumn olive, kudzu, privet, ivy, and grapevine, all sustainably foraged from Burritt’s grounds, highlighting creative ways to manage invasives while honoring traditional skills.
Join us for an herbal workshop on balms and infused oils. Plants native to the Southeast provide many uses, and this workshop will allow participants an opportunity to learn about historic natural recipes and how they can still be used today.
