    Join us for the 4th Annual Blues with a View Fundraiser at Burritt on the Mountain on September 27th at 6pm, a concert experience unlike any other! We’re bringing back Huntsville’s own Microwave Dave and the Nukes with special guest Darrell Tibbs, and opening for them this year are The Woodpickers Association.     Folklife Festival Saturday, November 3 (10:00am-4:00pm) and Sunday, November 4 (12:00pm-4:00pm) Burritt’s Folklife Festival will showcase craftspeople, artists and presenters who will share their knowledge about the traditions, skills, handicrafts and arts of our region during the 1800s and early 1900s. Come hear traditional music and watch demonstrators as they show you how our ancestors worked, lived and created art. Skills that will be demonstrated include: blacksmithing, flint knapping, Native American flute making and playing, spinning, quilting, open hearth cooking and much, much more.     We are decking the halls, the walls and the stalls! Burritt on the Mountain invites everyone to Kris Kringle’s Candlelight Christmas November 30st and  December 1st from 5-9 p.m. The kids will love to see Kris Kringle in the Burritt Mansion from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. He has to get the reindeer to bed early as he has a busy month coming up! The star-lit mountain will be mirrored by more than 600 candles, adding to the nostalgic feel of the holidays.     December 12, 13, 14, 15 (7:00 pm), December 15 and 16 (2:30pm) The Sanders Family is back in Sanders Family Christmas. Renaissance Theatre and Burritt on the Mountain pair together to bring this traditional favorite to the community. Conceived by Alan Bailey and penned by Connie Ray, this famous sequel of Smoke on the Mountain returns to the Old Country Church at Burritt on the Mountain. We’ll return to Mount Pleasant, North Carolina, on Christmas Eve of 1941. Visitors are sure to be fascinated by the sheep-shearing and blacksmith demonstrations.  Come observe wool being spun into yarn, give milking our faux cow, Boxy, a try, and help wash and card our wool.  Learn what attending school was like in 1918…
