Discover the beauty of Shibori, the traditional Japanese art of resist-dyeing, in this hands-on class designed for adults. Students will explore a variety of folding, binding, and stitching techniques to create unique patterns on fabric.
During the class we will be kiln making frit and each necklace pendant will be composed differently. A full analysis of the firing schedules will accompany each pendant. Also, you will have a choice of various glass and textures for your projects. If you have ever been interested in fusing glass, this class will be an excellent starting point.
This workshop explores accessible techniques for developing a nature journaling
practice — we will cover basic supplies to get started, observational skills, simple drawing methods, and how
to use phone photography and identification tools to support and deepen the practice. The focus is on
documentation over perfection, building a habit that invites curiosity and connection with nature rather than
demanding artistic skill.
