Join us for a fun-filled week of exploring the Whimsical Woods at Burritt while learning about how things grow, including our imaginations. Spring is the perfect time to explore and learn as the plants wake up from their winter’s nap. We will do a bit of gardening, plant our own seeds, learn about herbs, and make sun prints. Come ready to learn and play outside. Monday through Wednesday, we will focus on how things grow and hiking the Whimsical Woods with our hiking sticks we create. Thursday and Friday, we will learn about tree identification and make our own dichotomy key to identify the trees in the Whimsical Woods. We will even learn about the oldest trees on our planet. Throughout the week, we will learn about the stories that children enjoyed throughout the 1800s as we grow our imaginations and do hands-on activities at story stations in The Whimsical Woods.
Camp days run from 9:00 to 2:00. Students should bring their own sack lunch, but Burritt will provide a snack each day. You may also choose to register for our extended day options with drop-off available as early as 7:30 a.m. and pick-up as late as 5:30 p.m. The cost for each day of extended day is an additional $5 each day for morning only, an additional $10 each day for afternoon only, or $15 each day for both morning and afternoon.
Registration opens Wednesday, February 5th and closes Tuesday, March 24th.
