A day of Open Hearth Cooking, Blacksmithing and Fires Burning throughout the Historic Park! You won’t want to miss Burritt’s Fire on the Mountain on Saturday, March 7th, from 10:00 – 3:00. Our historic cooks will transport you back to the 1800s as you see, hear, and smell their work as they prepare historic recipes over our open fires and cast-iron cook stove. In addition, our blacksmiths will be firing up the forges throughout the historic park to demonstrate this fascinating skill.
View EventIn this hands-on class, participants will gain the knowledge and experience to confidently bake their own sourdough at home. Students can expect to bring home a loaf of sourdough to bake the following day, their own sourdough Mother (which is over 100 years old) for continued baking, and a tea towel.

Designed for grades K-5, this week-long day camp lets kids explore the great outdoors at Burritt on the Mountain. Campers will immerse themselves in nature by hiking our forested nature trails (weather permitting), learning about animals around the world, and discovering the habitats they live in. Students will explore how each animal is perfectly suited to its environment.

Come and spend some time with us learning how to play the bodhran (Irish traditional frame drum). This class will teach you how to hold the drum, how to hold the tipper (drum stick), and how to play some simple rhythmic patterns. No experience necessary.

Easter Jubilee 2026 at Burritt on the Mountain Saturday April 4, 2026, 11am-3pm Super egg-citing Adventures await at Burritt on the Mountain’s annual Easter Jubilee! Grab your Easter basket and join us on Saturday, April 4th, from 11am to 3pm. Collect eggs and treats from our frontier friends, pan for gems at our sluice, meet our barnyard animals and make some Easter crafts to take home. Don’t want the fun to end? Tour Dr. Burritt’s mansion, explore the We the People activities, or take a hike on one of our nature trails.

Visit our barnyard animals, experience historic skills, and learn about life on the farm during the 1800s. Visitors will be fascinated by the sheep-shearing and blacksmithing demonstrations. Learn how to card and wash wool, observe wool being spun into yarn, create an animal mask, and play with old-fashioned toys.
