Title: Ceramics: “Clay Gnomes”
Description: In this class you will learn how to hand build clay gnomes. It will be a step by step process, so no stressing! We will teach you a few different clay techniques and help you be creative with the finishing touches. It will then be fired in our kiln and you can come back to glaze your gnome on Thursday, September 7th at 5:30 pm.
Instructors:
Jenny Black is a ceramic artist born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. She attended Auburn University where she received her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in ceramics. She creates small batches of wheel-thrown and hand-sculpted pottery. She loves teaches in the clay community and sharing the techniques she has learned over the years.
Cate Woodall is a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University with a visual arts degree specializing in ceramics. She has taught hand-building clay and pottery painting classes as well as glass fusing for several years. She enjoys helping people find a stress free outlet for their creativity.
Supplies and Attire: All materials and supplies will be provided. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a bit dirty.
Time: Saturday, August 19th, 2023 (10:00am-12:00pm) and Thursday, September 7th, 2023 (5:30pm-7:300pm)

Important Information: Registering for a workshop indicates that the student is 19 years of age or older and understands that photographs/video may be taken during the event and their image may be used on Burritt on the Mountain’s website and social media outlets or other promotional materials. Registration also indicates that the student releases Burritt on the Mountain and the City of Huntsville, all their directors, employees, volunteers, and any persons associated with Burritt on the Mountain, from any liability for any bodily injury and/or property damage suffered by the attendee as a result of actives during the educational program.
Cancelation Policy: Our workshops take a great deal of advance planning and purchasing of supplies. 25% of all ticket purchases are a non-refundable deposit. Students that cancel 30 days or more prior to the date of the class will be eligible for a refund, minus the non-refundable deposit. If a cancelation is requested 14 to 29 days from a class date, a refund of half the total price can be issued. No refunds will be issued less than 14 days from the start date of a class.* To be fair and consistent, there can be no exceptions to this policy, regardless for the reason a cancelation is requested.

*We require a minimum number of students to hold a class. If this minimum is not met, the class may be canceled or rescheduled. In this case, a full refund will be offered.
