Jewelry Making: “Pottery Pendants”

August 16 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

$95.00

Deadline to Register: August 9th at 5:00pm

Description:  Come create a beautiful necklace using one of kind pendants created and glazed by Burritt’s Principle Pottery Instructor, Paul Wieland. Students will have a unique piece of jewelry with the collaboration of 3 creative talents and skill!  Each pendant will be even more unique as you design the final touch. Students will use sterling silver to wrap the pendant and a stainless steel chain will be available. Please note: Beginner Pattern Wire class is a prerequisite for this class.

Instructor: This class will be taught by local artist and Burritt Folk School Principle Instructor, Elesa Phares. Elesa has taught jewelry making at Burritt on the Mountain for four years. Elesa has a BS in Radio/TV/Graphics with emphasis in 3D animation from Middle Tennessee State University with minors in art and psychology.

Elesa has always drawn and painted since she can remember and loves experimenting with different materials. She learned to wire wrap as a creative outlet that she could do while her children were young. As they got older, she expanded her skills to fabrication, PMC, soldering, and fused glass.

Elesa has taught classes at Beadfest in Dallas, Philadelphia and published an article in Art Jewelry Magazine in 2008. She has participated in juried art shows in Middle Tennessee, including White Oak, TACA, and was a base studio for the local Studio Tour.  She and her father were also featured on a segment of Tennessee Crossroads. You may find out more about her and her work on her website www.designsbyelesa.net .
