Join us for Makers on the Mountain on August 1, where we’ll be demonstrating traditional basket‑making using locally gathered kudzu vines. From 11:00 am -3:00 p.m., visitors can see how this fast‑growing plant can be transformed into sturdy, beautiful fiber art. Contrary to it’s much maligned reputation in the Southern US,  Kudzu has long been valued not only as a natural fiber source but also for its many uses in food and herbal medicine.
