Title: Weekday Series: “Stained Glass Dangling Hearts”
Description: These lovely hearts are perfect for beginners as well as those with a little experience in stained glass. We will be cutting, grinding, foiling, tinning and soldering the glass; then assembling the dangling hearts using some jewelry techniques. A choice of colors will be available. There will be a half-hour lunch break during this class. We recommend you bring a lunch from home.
Instructor: Karen Reed has been an art glass professional for over 35 years. Her work has been purchased for private collections in several countries, was requested for Christmas display at The White House, and is carried in galleries in four states. She has been a published, contributing editor for GLASS Craftsman magazine for 13 years. She has also written for: International Guild of Glass Artist’s publication: Common Ground Glass, Glass Art, the e-magazine artglassinfo.com, Fired Arts and Crafts and The Crafts Report. Teaching is a major component of Karen’s work. She has previously taught at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC and has delighted in teaching at Arrowmont School for Arts & Crafts and Appalachian Center for Crafts for over a decade. Locally, her work is available at The Huntsville Museum of Art and The Huntsville Art League (Lowe Mill).
Supplies and Attire: All materials and supplies will be provided. Students should wear close-toed shoes.

Important Information: Registering for a workshop indicates that the student is 19 years of age or older and understands that photographs/video may be taken during the event and their image may be used on Burritt on the Mountain’s website and social media outlets or other promotional materials. Registration also indicates that the student releases Burritt on the Mountain and the City of Huntsville, all their directors, employees, volunteers, and any persons associated with Burritt on the Mountain, from any liability for any bodily injury and/or property damage suffered by the attendee as a result of actives during the educational program.
Cancelation Policy: Our workshops take a great deal of advance planning and purchasing of supplies. 25% of all ticket purchases are a non-refundable deposit. Students that cancel 30 days or more prior to the date of the class will be eligible for a refund, minus the non-refundable deposit. No refunds will be issued less than 30 days from the start date of a class.* To be fair and consistent, there can be no exceptions to this policy, regardless for the reason a cancelation is requested.

*We require a minimum number of students to hold a class. If this minimum is not met, the class may be canceled or rescheduled. In this case, a full refund will be offered.
