Women’s Work , Women’s Wear – Life of Women in the 1800s

May 11 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

“Women’s Work, Women’s Wear”
Saturday, May 11th | 10am – 4pm

Join us as we travel back in time to discover what life was like for Tennessee Valley women in the 1800’s. Take a stroll through Burritt’s Historic Park and meet the ladies who once lived in our cabins. You will experience their day-to-day roles as wife, mother, teacher, and their work off the farm. As you wander through the 1800’s, see the changes in fashions, that the women of our cabin families would have worn and admired. Come appreciate the strength and courage of the women that came before us. Try your hand at treasured household arts and tasks, farming and barnyard duties, and step into careers such as teacher, seamstress and more. Kids will enjoy hands-on crafts and activities throughout our park.

This event and all activities are included in general admission or free for our Burritt Members.
