A day of Open Hearth Cooking, Blacksmithing and Fires Burning throughout the Historic Park! You won’t want to miss Burritt’s Fire on the Mountain on Saturday, March 4th, from 10:00 – 3:00. Our historic cooks will transport you back to the 1800s as you see, hear, and smell their work as they prepare historic recipes over our open fires and cast-iron cook stove. In addition, our blacksmiths will be firing up the forges throughout the historic park to demonstrate this fascinating skill.

In this intermediate class, students will learn the basics in how to wire wrap a cabochon in sterling silver wire to create a pendant. This class is open to anyone who has taken one of Elesa's beginner wire wrapping workshops.
Open from March 11th until Labor Day. Gather your goslings and take a gander around Burritt as you enjoy a day of family fun. Chase the clues to find our “Gertie the Goose” statues throughout the site as you hike the trails, visit our barnyard animals, explore the historic park or tour the mansion. Each statue marks a noteworthy location and fun fact. Use the fun facts to solve a puzzle as you enjoy the fashion show that Gertie puts on at each stop. Some of her clothes choices will tickle your funny bone.
Using the forge, anvil, and basic hand tools you will learn to draw a taper, bend, flatten or spread, twist, and punch holes. Using these techniques you will make your own wall hooks.
Nature Rangers Spring Camp: Tales, Tails & Trails March 13th - 17th K- 5th grade 9:00 – 2:00 Extended day options available This spring break, come join us as we learn about different folk tales from around the world and close to home and meet the animals that inspired some of those stories. No camp at Burritt would be complete without a hike on our forested nature trails! Come make new friends, play games, create crafts, and enjoy the great outdoors as you can only at Burritt on the Mountain. Camp days run from 9:00 to 2:00.
Come and learn the beautiful, but simple art of quilling. After a short and easy lesson, each student will create their own personalized bunny silhouette using the colors and quilled shapes of their choice to frame and take home.
Learn to use fresh herbs in homemade pasta, sourdough breads, crackers, soups and dessert. We will also cover preserving herbs in a beautiful way to capture the essence of fresh herbs.
Burritt on the Mountain in collaboration with Huntsville Traditional Music Association are happy to announce the return of the Coffeehouse Series bringing monthly Coffeehouse Concerts back to the Old Country, freeing us from weather concerns and allowing a longer season. Andrew’s Legend Tuesday, March 28th Hailing from Florence, Alabama, Andrew’s Legend performs mostly Celtic Folk style tunes. Andrew Garner and his Legend (Allison and Chad Mackey) have been spreading the joy shared over music (and a pint) to everyone who’s ready to listen and sing along.
