A day of Open Hearth Cooking, Blacksmithing and Fires Burning throughout the Historic Park! You won’t want to miss Burritt’s Fire on the Mountain on Saturday, March 4th, from 10:00 – 3:00. Our historic cooks will transport you back to the 1800s as you see, hear, and smell their work as they prepare historic recipes over our open fires and cast-iron cook stove. In addition, our blacksmiths will be firing up the forges throughout the historic park to demonstrate this fascinating skill.

In this intermediate class, students will learn the basics in how to wire wrap a cabochon in sterling silver wire to create a pendant. This class is open to anyone who has taken one of Elesa's beginner wire wrapping workshops.

Open from March 11th until Labor Day. Enjoy a day of family fun as you chase the clues to find the “Gertie the Goose” statues throughout the site. Each statue marks a noteworthy location and fun fact. Use the fun facts to solve a puzzle and enjoy the fashion show that Gertie puts on at each stop. When you finish your “chase,” collect an eggsceptional prize at the Welcome Center. There are four different “chases” for kids to enjoy.

Using the forge, anvil, and basic hand tools you will learn to draw a taper, bend, flatten or spread, twist, and punch holes. Using these techniques you will make your own wall hooks.
