This workshop will introduce you to the basics of spinning your own yarn. Come meet our sheep, spend time learning how to use a drop spindle, and try your hand at a spinning wheel.
This class will focus on several basic smithing fundamentals. Using the forge, anvil, and basic hand tools you will learn to draw a taper, bend, flatten or spread, twist, and punch holes.
Face jugs have a long tradition in many cultures, including the American South. Styles of face jugs range from realistic to highly fantastical. In this class you'll be provided with a basic wheel-thrown jug or mug (your choice) to decorate using hand-building techniques to create a face that is uniquely yours.
Easter Jubilee Saturday, March 30th 11:00am - 3:00pm Celebrate Springtime with Burritt on the Mountain at our annual Easter Jubilee! We will once again host a day of frolicking fun at this come-and-go event for kids and families. Grab your Easter basket and come collect eggs and treats from our frontier friends. Enjoy live folk music, pan for gems at our sluice, and make a couple of fun Easter crafts! If you don’t want the fun to stop, come experience our Blast in the Past scavenger hunt throughout the historic park.

Gorgeous sunsets and the best view of Huntsville returns this April. Cocktails at The View is held every Wednesday evening April through October, rain or shine. We offer a cash/credit full bar. We encourage you to pre-order appetizers on-line. Ride with a friend and carpool to help with parking, especially on beautifully gorgeous evenings. In the event of rain, Cocktails on the View will be held in the Pavilion.
