This class will focus on several basic forging fundamentals. Using the forge, anvil, and basic hand tools students will learn tapering, spreading, scrolling, bending, and riveting as they make a letter opener.

A series of demonstrations of historic skills and crafts in our Historic Park. Fall 2024 Saturday Series October 12, 10am-2pm - Gourd Carving Just in time for Halloween, we will demonstrate traditional carving with gourds, turnips, pumpkins & watermelons. Enjoy 19th century era ghost storytelling along with other period seasonal things. Upcoming Events October 26 – Braided Rug Making We will hopefully be completing 2 unfinished braided rugs and begin the process of preparing scrap material for future rugs. November 9, 10am-2pm - Candle Making and Dipping Burritt staff members will demonstrate candle dipping.
