In this four week class students will build on skills to make bigger and better bowls, mugs with handles, and other forms. This class is also a good refresher if it has been a while since you've used a potter's wheel. Beginners are also welcome.
Celebrate Huntsville Music Month! Music on the Mountain Sunday, September 15th 12:30pm – 4:30pm Enjoy some old-time favorites as you wander through our Historic Park and listen to musicians share their love of making music the old-fashioned way. Visit for an hour or two or bring a picnic lunch and spend the day on the mountain. Admission includes a trip to the Burritt Mansion and/or hiking our trails. Influences include Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, Henry Mancini, Cole Porter Bobby Darrin, Ella Fitzgerald and Count Basie. Bring your chair, blanket and picnic to enjoy the evening. Food trucks will be onsite with food & dessert available for purchase. Beer and Wine available for purchase.
Brats at Burritt September 22nd 5pm – 7pm Fall is in the air, so come on out to Burritt for a casual dinner. Enjoy the cool temperatures and great views with a gourmet Brat Box. Pre-order your Brat Box before the event. Brat Box includes either a Traditional Bratwurst or Chicken Bratwurst, Potato Salad, Slaw and Apple Strudel. In this beginner level brush lettering class students will learn everything they need to know to get started with brush lettering. Students will go home with their starter kits including workbook, markers, and more!
Students will combine wire and beading skills to design and make a custom ginko cuff bracelet. They will use sterling silver wire, sterling beads and get creative with a wide variety of glass gingko beads to create a unique combination.
The term ugly jugs was first used in the early 1900's. Styles of face jugs range from realistic to highly fantastical. In this class you'll be provided with a basic wheel-thrown jug or mug (your choice) to decorate using hand-building techniques to create a face that is uniquely yours!
