Title: Ceramics: “Fall Pumpkin”
Description: Come create a one-of-a-kind decorative work of art. Through guided instruction, you will create a ceramic pumpkin using a variety of hand-building techniques. Students will lean to construct ceramic forms using pinch method and many other foundational pottery techniques along the way.
Please note: This two part class will be held on two days to allow for drying time before glazing. The dates and times are Saturday, September 17th (9:00am-1:00pm) and Sunday, October 2nd (1:00-3:00).

Instructor: Jessica Johnson “I am a Wife, Mother, Artist, Educator and Athlete. I have a one-and-a-half-year-old who helps me see the world anew. I am married to an artist, who is also a high school art educator. I am an active member of the Alabama Women’s Caucus for the Arts and have had my work exhibited around the South. I am Captain of the Dixie Derby Girls, Huntsville’s Flat Track Roller Derby Team. Regarding teaching, I have been an educator with Huntsville City School since 2011. I have taught the following courses over the years: Art I, Drawing I/II, Photo I/II, Painting I/II, AP Studio Art 2-D design, AP Drawing, Ceramic I/II, Magnet II and Magnet IV. I currently teach Ceramic I and Ceramic II and have been doing so for a few years now. During my undergraduate and graduate degree at UAB I completed a concentration in Ceramics, Painting and Photography. I love art and sharing the knowledge I have acquired over the years. Advocating for the arts and helping other grow their appreciation for the art is a life long passion of mine.”
Supplies and Attire: All materials and supplies will be provided. Students should wear close-toed shoes.

Important Information: Registering for a workshop indicates that the student is 19 years of age or older and understands that photographs/video may be taken during the event and their image may be used on Burritt on the Mountain’s website and social media outlets or other promotional materials. Registration also indicates that the student releases Burritt on the Mountain and the City of Huntsville, all their directors, employees, volunteers, and any persons associated with Burritt on the Mountain, from any liability for any bodily injury and/or property damage suffered by the attendee as a result of actives during the educational program.
Cancelation Policy: Our workshops take a great deal of advance planning and purchasing of supplies. 25% of all ticket purchases are a non-refundable deposit. Students that cancel 30 days or more prior to the date of the class will be eligible for a refund, minus the non-refundable deposit. If a cancellation is requested 14 to 29 days from a class date, a refund of half the total price can be issued. No refunds will be issued less than 14 days from the start date of a class.* To be fair and consistent, there can be no exceptions to this policy, regardless for the reason a cancelation is requested.

*We require a minimum number of students to hold a class. If this minimum is not met, the class may be canceled or rescheduled. In this case, a full refund will be offered.
