Title: Glass: “Fused Glass Garden Stakes”

Description: Come and join us for a two part class to design and create a set of four flower-themed garden stakes that will add a touch of beauty to your potted plants or flower beds. In the first class, students will create a variety of designs including flowers, birds, rabbits, butterflies, etc. using modeling glass and molds. These will be fired and ready for the second class two weeks later in which students will design and fix their final pieces onto clear glass. These will be fired in our glass kiln and ready for pick-up two weeks after the second class.

Instructor: Kay Lenard is a multi-dimensional glass artist. Kay previously worked in the government and with the American Red Cross as a Director of Emergency and Disaster  Services.  She has extensive experience teaching numerous classes and became a master instructor with the Red Cross. “While traveling our great country,  I fell in love with stained and painted glass windows. I have been working in glass for 5 years now. I had the extreme fortune to meet a wonderful mentor Karen Reed who taught me how versatile glass is.  I enjoy working with frit, and painting especially with calligraphy pens and working with glass modeling clay. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and love of glass with the participants of Burritt on the Mountain.”

Supplies and Attire: All materials and supplies will be provided.
