EXPLORE NATURE Birding at Burritt January 31st | 10am-4pm Rescheduled to Saturday, January 31, 2026 Welcome to Birding Day at Burritt on the Mountain Quinn Wildlife Sanctuary – Opening Soon in Huntsville 10:15 am Folkschool Classroom Come meet Alexis Quinn and learn about raptors and their unique adaptations. She will also discuss the plans for their sanctuary. The presentation will be at 10:15 am, but Alexis will be on-site till 3 pm with information about the sanctuary.

A day of Open Hearth Cooking, Blacksmithing and Fires Burning throughout the Historic Park! You won’t want to miss Burritt’s Fire on the Mountain on Saturday, March 7th, from 10:00 – 3:00. Our historic cooks will transport you back to the 1800s as you see, hear, and smell their work as they prepare historic recipes over our open fires and cast-iron cook stove. In addition, our blacksmiths will be firing up the forges throughout the historic park to demonstrate this fascinating skill.

Join us for special Architectural Tours that go beyond the surface to explore how these structures were built, how they were used, and why they matter today. From hand-hewn logs and original construction techniques to the stories of the people who lived and worked in these spaces, these tours offer a deeper understanding of everyday life in 19th-century North Alabama.
